Tauw Group CEO site visit in Belgium

Last Tuesday, CEO of Tauw Group Henrike Branderhorst hopped over the Belgium-Netherlands border to visit one of our soil and groundwater investigation fieldworks in Diest, Flemish Brabant.

Since taking over the Board of Tauw Group together with Ralph van Roessel one year ago, Henrike and Ralph have been strongly invested in achieving our Tauw Group 2020 strategy; its aim, in a nutshell, is to further strengthen our position in Europe’s environmental consultancy sector. In this spirit, Henrike and Ralph have been taking an active role in the different Tauw branches across Europe, and hence the site visit in Belgium.

Henrike was very pleased by the teamwork and motivation demonstrated by our two colleagues, Michiel Vergote and Marc Muylaert, undertaking the fieldwork;

“It was like watching the parts of a tuned clock interact; Michiel and Marc knew exactly what they were there for, how to efficiently work together, and moreover, they were clearly proud of explaining their work to me!”

In addition, Henrike was also impressed by the professionalism of our field team here in Belgium;

“Watching how our colleagues operate on the field, you can see they are highly trained and well equipped to achieve the objectives of the soil and groundwater investigations. There’s also a strong attention to safety, they constantly stay aware of their surroundings, and this helps to keep them as well as all the other people on site safe.”

Given the nature of Tauw’s work, often performing drillings with heavy machinery on active industrial sites or in densely urbanized areas, attention to safety is of course one of our top priorities. Everyone is involved in this process, because everyone is responsible in ensuring the safety of our colleagues and anyone else present on the site we are working at.
